Led my first PD session as the new Transformative Engagement Leader and I have to say, it is very important to be personable as a presenter because if my colleagues didn’t know me or respect me, they would’ve easily tuned me out 😇

When I was in Italy, I asked my NY kiddos what books they read that year and they looked at me like I was crazy. They said they don’t read novels anymore—Just passages. Students build reading stamina by reading novels. 🚨Our testing culture is destroying readers 🚨

Aaaaaannnnnndddd that’s a wrap on the last day of school for 2025. Hopefully while I grade essays during the break, I also have fun outside of teaching but also start planning ahead for the spring ☃️

I’ve learned my lesson to never procrastinate grading essays over break ever again. I cranked out 5 classes in about 3 days and yikes. I’m no better than the kids 🤦🏽‍♀️😂

This is perhaps the most stressful finals week I could imagine for myself as I have to fly to Munich on Thursday and I’m hoping that I can grade everything by end of day Wednesday because I will not be grading in Bavaria 😅🇩🇪

After a slight delay and rebooking of flight, we’ve finally made it to Munich! Biggest perk outside of the goodie bag is a room to myself 🙌🏽🇩🇪

I would happily do another weekend of professional development if it meant a trip abroad. Met a lot of great teachers and learned some tips and tricks before my kiddos and I head to Greece in March! WorldStrides
