Several of our students received the @kcscholars scholarship to Missouri State. 19 students get $950,000 in scholarship money. This is in addition to the 11 students from Class of 2024 who were also awarded KC Scholars scholarships, bringing our yearly total to $1.5 million!

As we continue highlighting important Black figures, we want to acknowledge Missouri-born suffragist Ida Becks. Lincoln College Prep valedictorian and trained speaker, Becks championed causes like the YWCA USA and Urban League KC, while advocating tirelessly for women's suffrage.

The #BlackHistoryMonth celebration at KCPS Northeast included traditional dances, inspirational speeches from accomplished individuals, student-led poems, and a thoughtful address by KC Mayor Mayor Q about resilience and making a difference, one person at a time.

M.O.C.H.A (Men of Color, Honor, and Ambition) male mentoring group is back. Today we met some wonderful young men at East High School. M.O.C.H.A is coming to your KCPS high school soon. We are actively recruiting sophomores who exemplify leadership. WE ARE BACK.
