I learned a new word: a “doryphore” is “someone who derives intense satisfaction from pointing out the errors of others”. I'm not a doryphore. As an editor, I derive intense satisfaction from making a client’s text better, from a marketing and customer-experience point of view.

When you're writing your #marketing content, consider this: What do people want or need to know at each step of their decision-making journey with you? Make it easy for them to find that information. #copywriting

I posted a genuine comment on a celebrity's social media post. And I confess that then, part of me hoped he would see it, love it, and interview me on his podcast. And then I'd be famous and ride in limousines.

A #copywriting tip. Ask yourself, "What do people want or need to know at each step of their journey with you, from when they first hear about you to when they buy and use your product or service?"

To change my mind's habit of instantly imagining the worst-case scenario whenever anything goes wrong in my life, I'm installing this new thought: "I see a bright, happy future for myself, and I take action towards it every day."

Patting self on back. I've voted in many polls by Ellen is at the Grammar Table in which she quizzes us about English #grammar, and I'm happy to say that so far all my answers have been correct.

I just heard someone in a video say an unintentional mashup of "extremely" and "exceedingly": "extreedingly". Useful!

I was typing the word “storytelling” and accidentally typed “storyyelling”. And it occurred to me that most companies yell. That doesn’t work. #storytelling #marketing

A recruitment firm emailed me, saying they're looking for candidates with my skills and experience for a job with "a well known chocolate manufacturer", nowhere near where I live, and I'd be "packing, labelling and refilling chocolate bars". Well, I do love chocolate.

I'm surrendering to the fact that I've tested positive for Covid after avoiding it for nearly three years. Minor symptoms. Grateful that the holiday season gives me a good excuse to rest.

My brain enjoys finding rhymes (it's a useful skill for improvisers). Here's a string of rhymes that occurred to me today: A choosy boozy bluesy snoozy floozie. A character in "Chicago", maybe? #improv
