It's been a wonderful week back at school after our two week winter break! Kindies took some time to visit their sit spots during nature walk today. We shared some of the winter changes that have been taking place around our school!

How does nature provide us with opportunities to create art? Div. 6, 13 and 14 spent a beautiful afternoon painting with one of nature's gifts, mud!

Div. 6, 13 and 14 spent a wonderful afternoon exploring the dyke today! It was the first time the Ks had walked to the dyke all together. Students used a listening scavenger hunt to explore what sounds live at the dyke!

This week has been all about kindness and showing our love for others. The kindies decided to show their love for the neighbourhood birds by making bird feeders to hang around the school!

What lives inside your heart? This question was explored by Div. 6 kindies when they created a map of their heart!

Kindies helped spread some kindness on Pink Shirt day today by making kindness posters to put up around our school!

Gilmore kindies got to practice their photography skills as they looked for signs of spring on nature walk!

The cherry blossoms are in full bloom at Gilmore! Div. 6, 13 and 14 practiced drawing like a scientist during outdoor learning this afternoon!

Div. 6's ocean inquiry is in full swing! Kindies have been exploring which animals call the Salish Sea home.

Week Without Walls has been a blast so far! Today's focus was on community and students loved building shelters for their tiny peg people!

Students in Div. 6 have become very interested in all of the mushrooms growing in Shady Forest! Today on nature walk we learned about mushroom safety and took some time to explore with mirrors and magnifying glasses!
