Holiday themed measurement activities kept all of my students engaged during math groups today! 🚂 🎫 🍪

Fun Fact: our classroom is 425 cubes long. My kids worked together to measure the length of our room during indoor recess so I helped them figure out the total number of cubes. We made groups of tens, counted them, then added up the hundreds and counted the leftover ones.

Snapped a picture while shopping for adopt-a-family tonight with two funny, and thoughtful student council members. I got out of my comfort zone (being with first graders 😂) and had so much fun. My favorite quote “Mrs. Miller let me put you on to something”

These first graders LOVED making gingerbread houses during our party today! 🎄 Their families were extremely supportive and sent in LOTS of candy so they went home sweeter than ever. 🍭

These kids blew me away with how quickly they got back into the swing of things this morning! We celebrated our hard work with a quick game of ultimate 🪨📝✂️ before lunch. They were each other’s cheerleaders after they got out and all took the job very seriously. ♥️

Got to check in on our class pet today after MAP testing! These kids were SHOCKED to see how much she’s grown. 🐮

It worked!! ❄️ They didn’t even have to sleep with their pajamas on inside out! 🤍

I promised donuts if everyone worked hard and showed growth on their MAP test. 🧠 These kids pulled through and so did Kelly’s Bakery with the Cincinnati Bengals donuts.🧡🍩🐅

“Mrs. Miller I feel calm” is the quote I want to remember from today. These kids loved doing 100th day themed centers, celebrating growth and talking about our favorite moments from the year so far. I 💙 my little classroom family.

This class had a BLAST talking about outer space! I think they could’ve talked for hours. I can’t wait to see their all about space writing pieces! 🪐🛰️🌌🚀
