I remain surprised by how little attention this is getting from national media. Hundreds of millions of pounds of taxpayers' money in grave danger. Sure, things have gone seriously wrong in Thurrock but also huge questions about systemic issues that contributed to this scandal

And there's an important wider point here about the lack of interest in local councils, the pressure they are under and what that means for vital services they are under, as well as the public's access to information about all these issues

Our community garden in central Reading has always been open to all. We have suffered very little crime. But recently someone took several bags of peat-free compost. We'd love them back please as they are needed for use in our other community gardens.
