Looking forward to an inspiring and challenging couple of days Bevan Commission #TippingPointConference. Fantastic to hear from Helen Howson who sets out bold ambitions for how we create health and social care that is fit for the future

Rousing opening keynote speech from Eluned Morgan Bevan Commission conference. A reflection on collective responsibility and opportunity. As part of this we must better recognise the crucial contribution of unpaid carers without whom the health and social care system would fail.

Pleasing to hear Sir Chris Ham reference the importance of listening to carer voice. Strong reference to his The King's Fund report and the need for the NHS to be a learning organisation that properly involves those with lived experience as active participants in delivering change

Hey easyJet we’re travelling Bordeaux to Bristol tonight. App says there’s a 4.5hr delay. Airport staff say we can’t pass through security as there’s no confirmed flight. Autistic kids and no access to allergy appropriate foods - so an update would be good!

Governments, statutory services and decision makers across the U.K. must do more to understand and meet the needs of unpaid carers. To continue as we are undermines the long term viability of our health and social care system and leaves carers without the support they deserve.

We were delighted to meet with the Deputy Minister for Social Services, to discuss with carers the difference our Amser programme has made to them. We’re committed to working with Welsh Government Health and Social Care to ensure as many carers as possible can access the breaks they need and deserve.

We recognise the value unpaid carers play in our society and to our NHS. 💛 That's why the new Swansea Carers Centre has been supported with Welsh Government funding. The centre offers vital practical support and help for carers in the local area.🙂 👇 gov.wales/new-hub-opens-…
