what i always loved about atla/the gaang is how quick they are to defend each other especially from danger. they really only had each other during this war and so for them to be so instinctively protective makes me weep

like they really shot tf up when sokka got slashed at, they were already concerned so the second the sword came out they were on their feet ready to go. and got so 🥺 when sokka says he'll do this alone. but seeing how quick they were to fight for each other? ugh thats family
