Today I held a masked child while he cried because “mommy told me to keep mine on and everyone is yelling take it off.” I whispered, “my mommy told me to keep mine on too.” Childhood is hard but it shouldn’t have to be this hard.

That’s a wrap on year 7!!! Even though this year was bonkers, these 19 rockstars were absolutely resilient through it all. They learned how to read behind plexiglass, showed up for every virtual lesson, and played and learned with masks on. Cheers to THEM 🥳💙

Celebrate good times, come on! 🥳 #SDWSAIL Followed the new writing curriculum with fidelity which will help us for next year in planning. Collaboration and peer modeling within teams to learn from one another.

#SDWSAIL Time to dig and dive deep into new units to get to know writing types, etc. Improvement in student engagement and writing growth. Immersion and reviewing mentor texts were very beneficial and got kids to see what real writers do.

#SDWSAIL Built in time for sharing among grade levels around writing and celebrating the writing going on!
