U(II) complexes that have 5f36d1 electron configurations are typically expected to reach a diamagnetic ground state at low temp. Surprisingly, these compounds display axial EPR spectra unlike their 5f4 counterparts. See our preprint online: chemrxiv.org/engage/chemrxi…

Hot take - I'm not reading your preprint if your figures are at the end of the manuscript file. Not interested in scrolling 30 pages to find the figure that matches your text

Can anyone on #ChemTwitter more well-versed in Mn coordination complexes than me explain why my NMR look like💩 (broad, unresolved) in C6D6 but fine in CD2Cl2 / CD3CN?

Help me actinide chemists of #chemtwitter! What do you think Uranium Oxide, Red means on the chemical bottle? Company went out of business in the 70s. I assume its an allotrope but I can't find any reliable information on it. Also, do you assume its UO2?

Super excited to share the group’s first foray into low oxidation state rare earth chemistry! Featuring rare Sc / Y / La2+! Please see the ChemRxiv: chemrxiv.org/engage/chemrxi… Big thanks to Prof. Nicholas F Chilton and EPSRC National Research Facility for EPR team for getting key insights on these complicated systems.
