I’ve gotten the most mundane celebrity news and feature stories appear on my phone as The New York Times breaking news alerts but UN workers being killed in Gaza today or up to 20 American doctors stuck there because Israel closed the Rafah borders don’t qualify as breaking news.
ANOTHER TOTAL TELECOMMUNICATION BLACKOUT IN GAZA!! DON'T LET THEM ISOLATE GAZA STRIP!! KEEP #connectingGaza
How is writing that Palestinian journalists are fair game to be killed (even years ago) not disqualifying for service on the The Pulitzer Prizes board?
Two years ago today, Israeli occupation forces murdered the legendary Palestinian journalist, Shireen Abu Akleh, in Jenin.
Shireen was assassinated, but the The New York Times originally reported on the story as if she had mysteriously “died”—and the executioner (Israel) was not named.
#Columbia_University protesters arrested after breaking into a building said in a statement: “We took it because we refuse to remain compliant in the face of an American-led genocide of the Palestinian people. We liberated the Hall, and made it Hind’s.” #StudentProtests
I remember an The Atlantic article that argued it wasn’t a genocide because not enough Palestinians were being killed. Just wondering what percentage would change their minds.
