When I sent this letter to Mishpacha Magazine I was hoping it would get a few people to think. I did not expect the promotion from David/Dovid Bashevkin , a full shiur from R' Moshe Weinberger or all the reaction received on Twitter /1

וַיִּירָא יַעֲקֹב מְאֹד, וַיֵּצֶר לוֹ Yaakov was very afraid, and he was distressed. Why the double language? Yaakov was afraid to confront Esav, and that is what distressed him (!) that he didn't have the proper Emunah in Hashem to feel everything would be ok. -Malbim

This is 26-year-old Eli Kay, an immigrant to Israel from South Africa, who was shot to death by a Hamas terrorist in the Old City of Jerusalem earlier today. A tour guide at the Western Wall, he was set to be married. May his memory be a blessing. 🕯️

Anyone know of resources regarding the history of מסכת תענית. I know the discussion that Rashi is not Rashi, and Tosafos is atypical, but even Gemara itself seems different (with a lot edits, and הג' הב"ח) than a typical mesechta) Any leads would be awesome! Thanks!

These optical illusions are always so humbling. A little trick lighting can fool our brain so easily, how can we be so confident about our opinions?!

Parents going through old boxes of benschers in their home and found this. My mom grew up on same block as the future Rosh Yeshiva in Hollywood Park, Chicago. Mom recalls they had a retractable roof in dining room for a sukkah. All the kids on the block would play hide and seek.

This was an excellent episode and I really want to hear more from Simi Peters. Articulate, wise, endearing, and thoughtful.

When people are masking at larger events these days, I'm thinking they are either very cautious...or have COVID and don't want to miss the event 😳

I feel like we really need an article from either Rav Mayer Twersky or Rav Aharon Lopiansky on this whole Chaim Walder situation

Random PSA. My car died recently and a friend helped me out with one of these. I ordered immediately after. If you don't own one, buy one immediately and just leave in your car. It's a life saver. You're welcome. amazon.com/dp/B09FP4P6BR/…

One of the most powerful nights I’ve ever had. We celebrated the republication of the NCSY Rabbi Aryeh Kaplan Library, published with ArtScroll. Present to celebrate was Rabbi Aryeh Kaplan’s wife, children, and grandchildren. His legacy continues. ❤️
