Loved seeing that Dave Portnoy and the One Bite Pizza Review made it to West Hartford to 1.) try out my two favorite pizza places and to 2.) discover the charm and energy of our New England town.

One explanation for America’s loneliness epidemic: The disappearing dining room at home. Are we designing loneliness into our living spaces?

Reported birth of rare white buffalo calf in Yellowstone park fulfills Lakota prophecy that portends better times, but it’s also a signal that more must be done to protect the earth and its animals. nbcnews.com/news/animal-ne… via @nbcnews

I LOVE @rainnwilson's #SoulBloom podcast. That said, I was puzzled by his recent misinterpretation of Trinitarian theology (it's not just "a Catholic thing") and Christianity's incarnational nature. Thank u @katecbowler for sharing your grace, wisdom to help clear things up.

Here's a new article I just wrote at @rns about why I believe it is theologically problematic to say that God saved Donald Trump (but not the other people)... religionnews.com/2024/07/15/god…

I am appalled at the ridicule directed at Gus Walz, especially by those calling themselves Christians. Have people been so co-opted by toxic masculinity and partisan politics that they can't even watch a young man shed tears of love and embrace his father without mocking him?

The new Bari Weiss Honestly with Bari Weiss is worth a listen. But two cringe points: * When she said Paul was one of the writers of “the gospels.” * Tom Holland calling the New Testament as a “counterpoint” to the foundational Old Testament, which sounds like a supercessionist view.

Loved how yasi salek’s Bandsplain podcast explored the spiritual and divine in its conversation about the top albums of 2024. But I cringed at justin sayles ugly comment about organized religion “taking advantage of people.” Come to Atlanta; spend a day with me in service and love.

There was a time when I appreciated what Bari Weiss was trying to do with The FPress. But those days are long gone. The publication’s take on children starving in Gaza is a darkness that needs to be pushed against. When journalism becomes evil instead of exposing it.

Yes, ending gun violence w/ hands, feet and votes needs to be a Christian movement. But this is an exceptionally ugly, cynical response to the sorrow in Minneapolis. There ‘s something twisted abt mocking prayer given the victims and beliefs of the grieving Annunciation community

From The Great Litany (BCP, p. 149). The way of love — not the way of violence — is the way we bind up our wounds in the human family. Good Lord, deliver us.

Best 2025 album: Rosalía’s Lux lives where desire becomes prayer — not earth, not heaven, but the charged mystery between. It longs for a holy crossing: entering heaven and returning. Not us rising to God, but God descending. Incarnation is the refusal of distance. Heaven is open

The striking immorality of ⁦Bari Weiss⁩ disguised as journalistic standards, covering up the evil of torture and silencing the voices of the vulnerable in order to maintain proximity to power, is the very definition of darkness. thereset.news/p/breaking-her…
