Education that prioritises "21st-century skills" over content knowledge is like teaching someone to fish by removing all the fish from the lake. You can't think critically about nothing, collaborate meaningfully around ignorance, or create innovatively from an empty vessel.

"Watching experts downplay the impact of Washington’s tariffs is mind-blowing. CUSMA doesn’t truly exempt over 90% of goods exported to the U.S.—just ask exporters. There isn’t a single country in the world currently shielded by trade agreements. If you anger Trump, he’ll act

When schools won’t remove violent or disruptive kids, it’s like a city refusing to prosecute crime. Disorder spreads, morale tanks, good people flee to nicer cities, leaving their previous town to collapse.

The reason electricity prices have been rising, and are going to rise more, is that government prohibitions of reliable fossil fuel power and preferences for unreliable solar/wind have 1) prevented reliable supply from keeping up with demand and 2) led to huge wasteful spending.

I would guess the percentage of teachers doing the same is similar. So as not be ostracized by their very progressive colleagues. Unfortunately, this would take a massive toll on their mental health. I know it did to me.

Why do Communists always glorify criminals? A few reasons, like destabilization and undermining Rule of Law, but the big one is to get people to blame the system for "criminalizing" them. It's always all about the revolution with Communists. Hope this explanation helps!

I see a lot of schools, and in many of them behaviour is below what it could and should be. Very often I see some of the most common strategic mistakes in these schools: 1. Vague expectations of behaviour 2. No staff training in implementing the school behaviour policy 3. A

Many proponents of self-directed learning owe their existence to the fact that there is only one kid being taught, through tutoring, homeschooling, or otherwise. Their ideas don't scale to a class full of 30 kids, and they don't care too much about that little detail.

I don't understand how someone can say "yes it's unfair for men to compete against women in sports but don't be mean to the men who are doing it!" "Hannah" Mouncey is an asshole, just like all of them. He is a man. He is a cheat. He does not belong in female sports. He is cruel.

And every time I hear someone criticise strategies that include boundaries, penalties and consequences on the grounds that it isn’t a ‘relational’ approach, it tells me they haven’t considered what relationships actually are, or how they are formed and maintained- healthy ones at

Why do so many teachers feel they weren't taught about cognitive science and neuroscience by university education departments? This video provides a clue: x.com/joboaler/statu…

The idea that a teacher has to “earn” respect is one of the more noxious ideas out there That students only need to show respect if they’re vibing with it No. The teacher is the adult and authority Students should be expected to respect them
