Today is the 144th day of 2022. The Uvalde shooting is the 212th mass shooting of 2022. Gun violence is a public health crisis.

14 children and a teacher dead. Another shooting. And the GOP won’t do a damn thing about it. Who the hell are we if we cannot keep our kids safe. This is preventable. Our inaction is a choice. We need nationwide, comprehensive, commonsense gun safety NOW.

I attended the talk and was disheartened by a comment made by the speaker. Calling out a specific ethnic group while addressing an issue is unnecessary and counterproductive. Integrity and merit cross borders and ethnicities. We can do better to make our community a safe place.
