Getting to meet some of our Mineola Middle School virtual learners in person for the first time today was beautiful in so many ways ❤️ The growth and resiliency these 5th graders showed this year has me feeling incredibly #MineolaProud .

Virtual learners enjoyed making Khan Academy style @Flipgrid videos on their favorite math topic they learned this year to help the incoming 5th graders at Mineola Middle School ! #mineolagrows

The Audubon New York Theodore Roosevelt Center sent a special message to our Mineola Middle School virtual 5th graders today for raising $235 towards piping plover conservation! ♥️🐦 Thank you to everyone who donated! I am so #MineolaProud of these #MineolaMissionDriven learners and change makers

First week of STEAM is done! Today, 3rd graders learned how our brain is like a muscle, and that choosing to take on a challenge helps us become smarter 🧠💪 As said by one student “this is the coolest thing I ever learned in my life!”#powerofyet #growthmindset #STEAM

Some beautiful neurons were drawn by second graders in STEAM this week! 🧠 Learners realized that “we can become smarter by working hard!” is not just a motivational phrase anymore - it’s neuroscience! #growthmindset #STEAM

1st graders in STEAM were given this task: just using three pipe cleaners and nothing else, can you make your index card balance off of your desk? I am so impressed by the creativity and perseverance shown by these learners!! 🤩 #STEAM #growthmindset #weareengineers

In an inquiry based activity, learners dissected dried marigold flowers and discovered the seeds inside! 🌼 During the activity, a 1st grade student exclaimed “this is the best day of my life!” We also compared different seeds and then planted the marigold seeds outside. #STEAM

Our 5th grade students participated in NASA ‘s Mission to Mars challenge again this year.🚀 Congratulations to both winning teams who showed great collaboration, design thinking, and diligence in their research.
