This is Winnipeg. Main Street is an EIGHT LANE expressway running through downtown and we are making it even wider! The sidewalk looks to be so narrow, walking two abreast will be difficult - to make room for even more cars. I hope I’m missing something - this can’t be real.

These updated data maps highlight the scary reality Canadians are facing as temperature records continue to break across the country (more than 150 so far, and this does not yet include data from August...) 🔥

Another day of record heat in Ontario and Québec, with highs reaching 30+°C once again in several locations. In many cases, it is not a monthly record just because it was hotter yesterday. #meteoqc #ONwx #Augtober

Canada's 2023 wildfire season is staggering. 17 million hectares have burned, dwarfing the previous record of 6.7 million hectares in 1989. There's no end in sight as wildfires continue to burn across Canada with the unusual potential to persist into 2024. #wildfire #forest

Rapid warming in Canada’s North is making the winter road system unpredictable. There are 8,000 kms of lifelines linking remote communities — but half of the country’s seasonal roads could be unusable by the 2050s. via Julia-Simone Rutgers thenarwhal.ca/manitoba-ice-r…
