Ray Dalio had a great chart in mid-2019 that showed the expansions of the monetary base during the endings of long-term debt supercycles. Here's my updated version for May 2020, based on current data:

Intuitively, it’s like how my 2 year old kid seemingly picks up far more language by constantly mimicking whatever his older 4 year old sibling blabbers out, than from anyone else. It’s “model distillation” in real life.

I'm going to interrupt today's scheduled doom and gloom, and say most banks will be fine. The ones facing problems have an industry-specific (and thus volatile) deposit base, or an unusually high ratio of securities on their book. For deposit safety: big and diversified banks.

If you know any tech companies that got hit by the Silicon Valley Bank collapse, we would be open to help bridge them to make payroll until they get their deposits back. And I mean at like a 5% interest rate or something super reasonable. The deposits aren't gone. They are just

David Sacks False and misleading analogy. SVB was nothing like a normal bank, it was a playground for VC startups and the hedge funds and billionaires behind them. And you know it.

Key stats for the bridge funding we set up to help companies impacted by Silicon Valley Bank: - 30 companies lined up to fund on Monday - Funding of about $31 million - Our loan to deposit: ~10% avg. - 2 public companies and 8 companies with ~$100M in revenue - Every company was

The Federal Reserve is NOT in the business of providing guidance to investors. Its business is monetary and financial stability. Technologists (particularly cryptoheads) are proving way too ignorant about basic finance.

Really excited to share our recent work on using AI to control an electron microscope to rearrange individual atoms! This was a really fun collaboration between Google DeepMind, Mila - Institut québécois d'IA, and Oak Ridge Lab. paper: arxiv.org/abs/2311.17894… 1/5

I just vibe coded a whole iOS app in Swift (without having programmed in Swift before, though I learned some in the process) and now ~1 hour later it's actually running on my physical phone. It was so ez... I had my hand held through the entire process. Very cool.

Happy Pythagorean Triple Square Day! Today’s date is made of 3 perfect squares and they form a Pythagorean triple: 3² + 4² = 5² This only happens once a century.
