Awesome article Jesse Dougherty, thank you for the opportunity to participate in this discussion! There are lots of nuances here, and this article did a great job of capturing them

In the discussion on pitching elbow injuries, here’s generally how i think about it: Inputs… Mechanics Strength and conditioning Workload Management Recovery time btwn pitches Sticky Stuff (Fatigue) Outputs… Pitch velocity Stress on the body (injury risk) (Fatigue)

Jimmy Buffi (@jameshbuffi) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Velocity and Injury are definitely correlated, but I wouldn’t say Velocity causes Injury, as I think of them both as outputs of the system - and we have evidence that there Inputs to the system that might increase Velocity while decreasing Injury risk learnyourkeep.substack.com/p/the-blueprin…

Are curveballs more dangerous than fastballs?🧐 Jesu- I mean Jimmy Buffi, summarizes his thoughts on the research. ✅In supination, the forearm muscles are less able to protect the elbow ✅However, with CBs, the absolute torques are lower than FBs Jimmy Buffi

Jimmy Buffi (@jameshbuffi) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Thanks Ben Brewster ! Yeah, the way I think about this concept is - more separation between these body parts allows more space for more energy to be added in the sequence From a physics standpoint, torque applied over a larger angle does more work on the next body part
