Someone needs to hear this: pretending something wasn’t painful and didn’t affect you is denial. You can drink, work nonstop, chase relationships, or do anything else to hide from it—but the pain won’t go away until you have the courage to heal from it.
Healing trauma isn’t about “why did this happen to me” or “what did I do to deserve this.” It’s: “Now that it’s happened, how can I make choices that allow me to thrive.”
Biggest mistake ppl make in trying to find their authentic self is thinking it has any particular shape. “I am an artist” “I am a warrior” no sir, those are just identities – the authentic self is that formless thing which can maintain integrity across identities
