It's time to admit they told people to pay attention to the small details then a) didn't care about details from past seasons and b) changed those details on a whim so it looked cooler.

Well, it was fun. Obv they're never going to outright deny a secret episode because the media response is more worth it to them than not disappointing their fans a second time. The dial was changed because it looked cooler, the inconsistencies were just laziness :(

Conformitygate being more engaging, interesting, and conclusive for the show than the actual finale is the biggest disrespect to the Duffer brothers and a worthy spit on their awful cop-out ending. Maybe cutting the final confrontation short for more epilogue slop was a bad idea.

Basically, yeah. The fans stole the show off writers who didn't care about the ending and left it full of holes, inconsistencies, and terrible writing, and made something engaging, entertaining, and exciting out of it that had more hype than the actual ending itself

God please don't let corporations decide to try and copy #conformitygate because it's going to create the most soulless and ass endings of all time. If I see a McDonald's campaign with "the secret ending is real" in a few years time I will throw up and probably commit arson.
