We've know since at least 1984 (Gabi Salomon) that letting learners do what they think is most efficacious just leads to them doing the thing that feels good and ultimately learning less.

The problem isn't that we don't know what works for better learning, but rather that most students don’t really know the best way to study and that many/(most?) teachers also don’t know what the best learning techniques are and often use ones that don’t work or don’t work well.

Con frecuencia me preguntan si para aprender es mejor leer en papel o en pantalla. Y lo cierto es que esa diferencia apenas importa comparada con otras, como por ejemplo lo que hacemos después con lo que hemos leído, o el entorno en que nos situamos. ⬇️
