Last Thursday night, Team NATHPO made our way to the First Americans Museum for the opening ceremony of the Indigenous Journalists Association Indigenous Media Conference. There, we got to experience a truly amazing performance by Landa Lakes (Chickasaw). This wasn’t just any drag show, mind you. (1/2)

Her performance closed with an emotionally gripping piece about the experiences of children during the Indian boarding school era. When it was over, in a room full of hundreds of people, you could hear a pin drop. It was truly unforgettable and an honor to experience. (2/2)
