Refinished the sad looking fuel tank too

Finished the fuel tank in M5 E28 #131 but ended up cannibalising an e30 sender/pump frame as euro twist fitting e28’s have gone NLA again….. even put the foam buffer pads back on!

Had to raid one of the emergency BMW 210mm large case differential as M5 E28 #131 has become so thin it’s had indeed become porous. Luckily I had the correct oem spare 3.73 LSD from a previous project!

Finished the rear axle, differential and airbox on M5 E28 #131. Now it goes for paint then I’ll put it all back together!

Here goes another 3hrs cleaning…..

Off to a specialist to hopefully sort out this running issue once and for all

My very old 525d e39 had a mot last week, pleased to see that there are still no oil leaks after quarter of a million miles….

Well the final coat of lacquer is on project BMW E28 M5, a huge milestone considering fabrication stage only started at Xmas - usually professionals have done this for me but I was let down repeatedly and took matters into my own hands which as a hobbyist was a dangerous game!

Managed 400 miles over the weekend in my M5 E34, most work it has done in many years!

Much cleaning, then it rained….
