Great work done with 1st years today showing off their understanding of creating a good hypothesis and testing variables in experiments. Nice and easy set up too 🙌 #jcscience

I have a very enthusiastic 1st year student who entered and has qualified for the BT Young Scientist competition by herself! She is investigating if age/gender have an impact on a persons ability to detect AI generated images as opposed to real ones. Survey here surveymonkey.com/r/356GBR5

Working on sustainability with 3rd years and focusing on UN Developmental Goal 11. Students had to create their own sustainable city. I added in extra detail of a budget and assigned roles to each student. Great hands on activity #jcscience #Sustainability #UNSDG

The Green School’s committee along with the help of some TYs have organised a recycling bin for every classroom in school. Well on our way to our Litter and Waste Green flag 🌍 ♻️

Last class with 1st years before their exams used a “brain dump” relay. Each group moved to a different way station & added any words they could think of. In hindsight assigning different colour pen to each group would’ve been more impactful, but I’m very impressed with results

The scale of this graph, from the Junior Cycle Science exam, is appalling. If a student did this, not beginning at 0 and not evenly spacing the scale (note only four squares between 30 and 35 when others have five) they’d get no marks.
