just coded the classic Gauntlet exit animation for a new js game I'm helping make at the @hometeamgamedev community! always loved that spin and fade to black, it was like falling into a wormhole. I can almost hear the arcade sound effect #gamedev

we're working on a gauntlet-like at HomeTeam GameDev (formerly Gamkedo Club) right now! we need red warrior, green elf, blue wizard etc so I just setup a generic topview avatar that exports to spritesheets! time spent on a good workflow now will save tens of hours later. look how fun this is already!

I've said it many times before but I love starting each week with a nice relaxing coffee and the HomeTeam GameDev (formerly Gamkedo Club) progress report videos for each project I am helping out on! lets me plan the week ahead and see all the cool #gamedev everyone else did last week!

created something cool today at HomeTeam GameDev (formerly Gamkedo Club)! blender project that displaces a cube-sphere (nice UV coords: no pinching at poles) via a noise modifier which uses the pos of an "empty" blender object as the "random seed", so you can move it around to generate infinite rocks

"greebling" is truly one of life's sweet pleasures. today on a @hometeamgamedev project I used a triplanar shader on random-sized cubes (UVs are world coords so no stretching) that I setup to be a kind of unreal terrain "foliage" lol! now we can mass-spraypaint them EVERYWHERE!

Our #gamedev podcast and our game development online practice program are still going strong (...27 remote team games released in 2020 on 2-6 month schedules, 28 in 2021, 35 in 2022, 25 in 2023, a bunch already this year) but we're in the process of moving fully to the other site
