There have been some changes to the type of ID that adult visitors need to provide when visiting a loved one in prison. These changes are to help make prison visits safer and more secure for everyone. You can read the latest guidance on our website ⬇️ prisonersfamilies.org/visiting-prison

We are pleased to announce that visits at HMP Wakefield will recommence from Monday 7th June 2021. Our visits booking line will be open tomorrow from 8.15am to 12pm. There will be restrictions in place, all of which will be explained to you upon booking a visit.

Visits Booking Line Opening Times: Monday & Friday - 8.15am to 12pm Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday - 8.15am to 12pm then 2pm to 4pm. We are expecting our phone lines to be extremely busy so please be patient if you are having difficulty getting through to us.

#HiddenHeroesDay This morning the Governor and members of the SMT greeted staff at the gate and gave all our #HiddenHeroes one of these splendid water bottles as a token of our appreciation for what they do 24/7/365. There are prizes to come and presentations to be made too.

We want to introduce you to ‘The Haven’ a staff welfare space full of advice, support and a place to go for help. Forged from an idea our staff care leads had and opened today for all our #HiddenHeroes

Our Mulberry is back!! After a brief absence from HMP Wakefield we had a small ceremony last week to replant small trees grown from cuttings from a tree that was itself grown from a cutting from our original tree. Our workshop staff did us proud, building a small garden for them.

Today we held our Staff Recognition and Commemoration Ceremony to recognise the long service of some of our staff. The presentation of the awards was made by The High Sheriff of West Yorkshire, Mr Clive Lloyd Esq. A great day for HMP Wakefield. #longserviceawards #Congratulations
