We’re sad to report that Wayne Troyer has passed. Wayne was a good friend of Historic Green & the architect who redesigned 5200 Dauphine, one of our first projects & now home to the nonprofit Sankofa. Wayne, you will be missed. nola.com/news/2019/05/w…

7 years ago I moved from a double shotgun on Baronne to Natchitoches for a summer internship with NCPTT, where I became a NOAA/NWS Skywarn storm spotter, ate a lot of broccoli salad, volunteered for Historic Green from afar, and learned what it means to miss New Orleans.

Historic preservation is waste prevention. No empty seats as we discuss Portland's deconstruction & salvage efforts. San Antonio can do this - your city can too! Building an equitable circular economy = leveraging cultural heritage for climate action. #climateheritage

KU Architecture students Chuck Frohwein & Kennedy Williams volunteered today, working w/ Carl Stafford of My Region Wins in KCMO to measure & recreate the butterfly roof at the Benton Garden. Plans are to redraw & rebuild the structure for Boon Area 1, near the KC Zoo.

Test your New Orleans architecture knowledge with another PRC architecture quiz! Can you tell which one of these double shotgun houses is an example of Craftsman-style architecture? Reply with your guess, and we’ll reveal the answer tomorrow.

Great workday yesterday at MOHives_official! Twenty EWB students from the University of Kansas brought their sweat & muscles to mix & pour LOTS of concrete for the piers that will support a new boardwalk through the pollinator prairie at this amazing community garden. #RockChalk
