all governments become frustrated by regulation. But the answer is looking at regulations on their merits, to see if they are still necessary or fit for purpose, not treating as a macho numbers game. And recognising bad deregulation has massive costs.

It is not hard to see why the British public has low trust, both in corporations, and in government (not because of Grenfell but because of what Grenfell represents). And why people want change so badly, but don't think any politician/party will deliver it.
