We're out in Bruce Grove today, having great conversations and getting lots of sign ups to our petition to #BootTheBailiffs. Every year, Haringey Council sends more than 8,000 households to private bailiff companies for council tax debt. Our community will not stand for this.
This is the story of our refugee neighbours at a Haringey hotel that was threatened with closure - and how our amazing community stood in solidarity with them! Listen here: bit.ly/47ihqiL #SolidarityKnowsNoBorders Yvette Cooper - #EndTheHostileEnvironment
Councils acting like loan sharks - who would have thought it... The way council tax is collected has to change. Haringey Council - end the use of bailiffs now ! theguardian.com/money/article/…
These refugee voices from a hotel are too often silenced. Our community was proud to stand by them. Listen here: bit.ly/47ihqiL Yvette Cooper all migrants have the right to: - Dignity - Welcome - Justice - Safety #SolidarityKnowsNoBorders #EndTheHostileEnvironment
WTF Network Rail?? This is totally excessive and against all current biodiversity guidance!
If you're in or around North London you won't wanna miss this Festival in #FinsburyPark supporting the homeless, from the ever present and brilliant Streets Kitchen. While you're at it, give a huge shout out to the amazing "Museum of Homelessness' Museum of Homelessness also in Finsbury Park.
Steve Jones Streets Kitchen Museum of Homelessness First stop - we rolled into Finsbury Park for another brilliant Street Fest where Streets Kitchen played a blinder. These cracking bands and 'The Right to Food' took centre stage & blew the 🌧 away. Next stop: 'Hunger March', 14th Sept Totenham Town Hall, from 11am. All welcome.
We're marching to Haringey Council cabinet meeting, united with a simple message. No more bully bailiffs in our borough. #Bootthebailiffs
We had a lovely day of community spirit at the Tottenham Flower & Produce show on Saturday. Our block prints were in great demand & our giant Jenga got a good outing. Thank you to Lordship Rec Friends for hosting us and to those making the Haringey Right To Food London ‘hunger march’ happen
