In this article, we show that the number of mammal species affected by H5N1 is appreciably increasing. The species involved include not only wild mammals but also domestic and synanthropic ones, some of which could be considered potential mixing vessels. authorea.com/users/859456/a…

We outline institutional reforms to enable inclusive, ethically grounded, and sustained engagement of researchers with such platforms, which will benefit researchers, institutions and society at large. nature.com/articles/s4189…

The H5N1 panzootic continues unabated, with more species and individuals reported infected around the world every day. In this article, we show that the number of infected mammal species has increased by almost 50% in a little over a year.

We identified high-risk areas for H5N1 spread and transmission. Based on the distribution of wild birds reported infected around the world, we identified areas of high risk for H5N1 spread and transmission, i.e., areas where the distribution of infected species strongly overlaps.
