Tidal life - it ebbs, floods, and is turbulent. Tweets be me own views, from perspective of husband, father, oceanographer. Accountable to coastal communities.

I’m feeling pretty lucky and super grateful to be working with such an awesome group of people, with our business growing in Nova Scotia’s oceans sector. More info coming soon :-)

When I got started in Oceanography around 15 years ago Richard was one of the first people I met, and he’s helped every step of the way. From my thesis through today, any question I have on ocean tech or getting things wet Richard is the first person I ask.

Tristan joined the crew about a year ago, and we’ve been part of the same research group for a decade. He is scientifically rigorous, an innovative problem solver, and pleasure to work with. His commitment to excellence challenges and teaches me regularly, in a brilliant way.

I’m honoured and excited about where this collaboration can go! Also overwhelmed by support from coastal communities where we work. It’s clear that ocean research is valued at working waterfronts, and needed for ongoing scientific discovery, and sustainable ocean industries.

I’m grateful for our research station in the place of clams, E’se’katik… and the one at the outflow too, Tewitk.

We developed ocean data solutions to address challenges for the tidal energy industry, and are now advancing our software to help meet the needs of other mariners including the Bluenose II. We’re super grateful for the community support to help enable next steps!

I had an amazing week fishing out of Lunenburg, and learned a lot about great white sharks 🦈. So grateful for this opportunity, and all I learn from amazing fishermen and other salty dogs throughout rural coastal communities.
