We planted 60 saplings today (wild cherry, rowan and silver birch) in a nursery area, where they will mature until they can be moved to their permanent position. Thanks to the Woodlands Trust, who approved our application and granted us these young trees. WoodlandTrust

We’ve had a busy afternoon clearing leaves from the perimeter fence. The gardeners can get behind the piles with the blower and the leaves can be easily collected from the pathways. 🍁🍁🍁

Friends of Greenhead Park would like to wish all our visitors a Happy New Year. We’ve already started to make a difference in 2020 - taming some of the ivy that has monopolised some borders. Look out for more activities in the park throughout 2020 😊

A welcome taste of spring today for our weekly Wednesday gardening session 🌺🌿🌤 Kirklees Council

Back in November, the Friends of Greenhead Park planted wild cherry, rowan and silver birch saplings, kindly provided by the Woodland Trust. A few months on, the tiny trees are now sprouting new leaves - a great morale-booster in these difficult times 🙂 WoodlandTrust

Great news! From Monday we can now meet up to 6 people outdoors - keeping 2m away from anyone from another household of course. Please remember that BBQs are not allowed in the park. Picnics are fine but please take any rubbish home - your help would be much appreciated 🙂
