In 1964, Glotman Simpson opened as a three-staff firm founded by a deeply passionate engineer who consistently put his client’s interests above his own. Still a family-run business today, those values have driven us to become one of North America’s leading engineering firms.

For our 60th anniversary, we're embracing the idea of projections in all its forms: "projections in concept"—by shining a light on our history of innovation—and “projections of tomorrow," harnessing our experience to envision the future of engineering from our perspective. #GS60

Legacy Project: Metrotown Centre, 1986. Envisioned in the 1970s, Metrotown became a reality in 1986, built as an extension of the Sears department store. This historic project catalyzed the area’s rapid development and holds a special place in both Vancouver’s story and ours.

Structural engineering is a hidden art form, its creativity often unnoticed—much like visual projections, which subtly enhance a primary focus. We drew a parallel between the two, using projections of Glotman Simpson’s past to showcase our vision for the future. #GS60

Legacy Project: 843 N Spring St., 2023. Built atop an existing parking structure, this five-storey, 145,000 SF creative workspace is LA’s first large-scale project to use cross-laminated timber, blending exposed steel beams and CLT panels for a modern twist on classic design.

Legacy Project: Richmond Olympic Oval, 2008. We were challenged to devise a solution that would stabilize the notoriously unstable soil to maintain a level ice surface for Olympic speed skating events. Our solution was a six-acre foundation raft and custom hollow core panels.
