Smartest thing I heard from a supt recently: As part of reopening planning, arrange a simulated school day (or even 1/2 day) for key stakeholders (supt, bd, union pres, etc) to "attend" school under draft plan. From bus to class to bathroom, walk in their shoes b4 deciding.

Every politician should be required to spend one day in an elementary school, one day in a middle school, and one day in a high school before they can say what teachers can or can’t do. And shadow during that day the principal, teachers, cafeteria, arts, nurse, librarian, etc.
