The reality for people with disabilities in Gaza. Overcrowding, little or no support, no assistive devices, inaccessible toilets, lack of information, repeated indignities, and worse. We're helping as many people as we can, but the needs are endless. theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

The atrocities in #Sudan are massively underreported, so huge thanks to Lilia Sebouai and Telegraph Global Health Security for covering this story. Some of the kids we're treating have been shot; many will never walk again. telegraph.co.uk/global-health/…

Today is #WorldHumanitarianDay 🌍 We have a special thought for our team in #Gaza. Despite being in the most difficult situations themselves, they tirelessly dedicate their lives to ensure vulnerable people have access to the vital care they desperately need. 🙌💙

Shocking - both that she had to crawl off a train, but also that it takes an Olympian to get coverage of this sort of everyday discrimination and thoughtlessness. bbc.com/news/articles/…

Great to see this coverage in a UK newspaper. HI has been working in Casamance for many years, helping Senegal reach its goal of becoming mine-free by March 2026. But it's a long and hard road, with our staff at real risk. theguardian.com/world/article/…

I started my humanitarian career trying to do something useful in response to atrocious violence in #Darfur. Twenty years later, here we are again. Big thanks to Tom Nicholson and Telegraph Global Health Security for this powerful and important reporting. telegraph.co.uk/global-health/…

Very pleased to have been able to support this. A UN Convention on the Rights of Older Persons would provide a powerful framework to combat age discrimination and ensure access to essential services. Great to see this campaign picking up momentum.

A powerful and urgent response to Human Rights Watch's excellent report on the horrors endured by children with disabilities in #Gaza. Thank you, Frances Ryan theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

There's no hierarchy between war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide; they are all equally awful to their victims. @philippesands #CALecture24

❗ Zeina Salhani, Operations Manager at HI Lebanon, spoke on Times Radio about the dire struggles in #Lebanon. Our teams are on the ground helping those in urgent need, but the situation is overwhelming. Will you help us continue our life-saving work? pulse.ly/fwaf5hfrrd

In response to my column, a charity told me about their vital fundraising to help disabled people in Gaza. They provide anything from wheelchairs to physio support. The demand is staggering and all help greatly appreciated. Donate here: humanity-inclusion.org.uk/en/gaza-crisis

Thank you Sarah Champion for raising this crucial issue. Some of the cases our teams in #Gaza are seeing are too horrific to describe. And not only are lives being lost, but untreated injuries are becoming life-long disabilities. We're talking about 10s of 1000s of children.

Huge thanks to The Telegraph for choosing Humanity & Inclusion UK as a charity partner for this year's Christmas fundraising appeal. We're honoured and grateful. All funds raised will support our work in Ukraine. telegraph.co.uk/christmas/2024…

Kids in bunkers learning about bombs. I'm so grateful to Francis Dearnley, Jack Leather, Adélie Pojzman-Pontay and The Telegraph for visiting this project and reporting on our work, and I'm so proud of my colleagues for running it. But I'm also just so sorry that this is their childhood.
