Brilliant sunny 🌞 morning on Maiden Castle, and cold North wind #Dorset 2 Yellowhammer; Stonechat & P Wag on the cattle dung. Small flocks of Linnet. 2 Buzzard, Kestrel. c50 Lapwing in field to North, along with hundreds of Woodpigeons, Corvids, Starling, Gulls. Dorset Bird Club

Yes, usually some Corn Bunting around, sometimes large numbers. Not today. Attractions elsewhere; lots of opportunities in adjacent fields 🙄

Due to flooding, there is currently no access to the Avalon Hide, most picnic benches nr the car park or the Play Area apart from Egret Hide. Access on main hard standing path through the reserve is okay but a number of the grass paths including the Canal Bank require wellies.
