Here in Norway, they have this phrase, “Helt Texas!” Literally it’s “totally Texas,” but it means “totally crazy.” For Norwegians, Texas is a synonym for crazy. A battalion of police in riot gear to meet students and faculty peacefully protesting illustrates this phrase well.
