when Grad Employees' Org UMich went on strike last year, i learned that grade strikes r cool. universities need final grades for admin processes, and delaying grades is costly. the costs to students of receiving a *delayed* grade is (generally) small in comparison to the admin costs it generates!

We are outside of University of Michigan Museum, wanting to speak to Regents inside. We’ve been asking for a meeting with Regents for months to discuss divestment.

Instead of meeting with us, UM admin sent 30+ cops and detained two students.

Most of our nurses can't afford to live in Ann Arbor… I'm sick of the University buying properties and then forcing people to settle for less. I'm sick of being victimized and exploited by the Ann Arbor real estate conglomerate.

Right now @UMichSPH’s commencement speaker, Jodi-Ann Burey, condemned the UMich’s leaders for not divesting in the face of the genocide in Gaza. “We are witnessing the most well-documented genocide in human history on our cell phones.”

Earlier today I spoke at a May Day rally organized by TAHRIR Coalition.

Students have been encamped for 2 weeks, calling on University of Michigan to divest endowment funds from Israel's military, which is fighting an inhumane war in Gaza. The Regents have so far declined to meet them. 1/
