Telephone customer service operators need to try harder to understand the needs of their customer. Storm damage over the weekend is stressful. Elderly people need empathy, saying no problems and complicated questions is unhelpful.

SHDC Planning committee last night refused the Solar application at Holbeach St Matthew. There is a place for solar. That is on our rooftops, brownfield sites and commercial buildings, however not on the best food producing land in the country.

At the weekend I was at a car boot sale. Very friendly atmosphere, with plenty of bargains for customer and money being made for traders. This would not be the same if we went 100% cashless. We still need that choice and many High Streets now have no bank.

Towns such as Spalding need a variety of Shops and businesses. Empty shops are unattractive, however we need more quality and variety. Further betting shops and gambling establishments do not fall into that category. SpaldingToday Spalding Voice
