16 years ago today (3/29/09), Citi Field opened its doors to the public for the first time with a college game between St. John's University and Georgetown University. The New York Mets' 1st Major League game wouldn't be for another two weeks, but it all started on a rainy Sunday afternoon this day in 2009.

At-bat graphics of future Met Juan Soto, then with the Yankees, as shown on the mighty Citi Field scoreboard one year ago today (NYM v. NYY, 6/25/24).

One year ago today (6/26/24), SNY Mets cameras caught a guy being perp walked to Mets Jail as Adrian Hauser pitched to Anthony Volpe in the top of the 7th inning of the Mets-Yankees game at Citi Field.

Clem Labine pitched for the Brooklyn Dodgers and was an Original Met who appeared in the team's very first game in 1962. As a Met, Labine wore the same number he wore as a Dodger. Clem Labine, the very first ballplayer to wear #41 for the #Mets, was born on this date in 1926.

I don't have anything relevant to say at the present time so I'm posting a photo of beloved Mets fan favorite Daniel Vogelbach 😯 on the mighty Citi Field scoreboard just for the heck of it… 😁

MLB should really have a second broadcast option where you can watch the game with the local crew on the call. It's absurd that fans go through an entire season with the local folks then are saddled with a national crew with zero insight on the teams they're calling.

The Mets had an unofficial presence on NBC's broadcast of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade thanks to an attendee wearing one of The 7 Line's Home Run Apple beanies.
