Coming soon - Biometrics for Canada. Summer '18. When applying for a visitor visa, study/work permit (except U.S. nationals), or PR you will need to give fingerprints and a photo. For temporary entry, only need to give biometrics once every 10 years.

On Fri Apr 6, 2018, U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) announced that the FY2019 H-1B cap has been met. This is the 6th year in a row that the H-1B cap has been met in the first 5-day period, triggering the computer-generated H-1B lottery selection process.

Portugal to be added to Immigration Refugee & Citizenship Canada's International Experience Canada Program. When it opens there will be 2000 spots for citizens of Portugal between 18 - 35 to apply to work and travel in Canada. This is the 34th country to be added to the program.
