Great to see a large number of Greylags at Silverlakes. Amazing there were only 2 colour ringed geese present showing the majority of these birds are not from Poole Harbour. Where are these ones coming from??? Birds of Poole Harbour Dorset Bird Club Dorset Wildlife Spot
The Brownsea brood still at Poole Park after fledging from the island. It's great to see them doing well and it will be interesting to see how long they remain at the park. Birds of Poole Harbour Birds of Poole Harbour Dorset Bird Club Dorset Wildlife Spot
Wow! Thanks to Nicki T for the video of this very late gosling. A race against time to grow and fledge - we shall see what happens with this family over the coming weeks. Most families fledged/very close to fledging. Birds of Poole Harbour Dorset Wildlife Spot Dorset Bird Club
The dragons are out today on the island!! A beautiful Migrant Hawker buzzing around Millcombe whilst out ringing/census this morning. Lundy Bird Observatory
The lovely facial marks of a Willow Warbler caught and ringed on the island today. Still a few birds moving but more of a trickle the last couple of days with the change in weather. Lundy Bird Observatory
The final 22 Greylags are still at Poole Park. By the end of the month, they will probably be heading off for their autumn/winter movements. Keep an eye out for colour ringed birds in Dorset, Hampshire, and beyond!! Birds of Poole Harbour Dorset Wildlife Spot Dorset Bird Club Hampshire Ornithological Society
