I just have released the schematics and PCB of my transputer board, along an article describing the process. Enjoy it! #retro #transputer #ibmpc #dos nanochess.org/transputer_boa…

The TermDriver 2 looks like a handy tool for an embedded developer. What is better than indicator LEDs on a USB serial adapter? How about a color display. Besides taking all the fun out of guessing baud rates, it can also be used without a USB connection as a console monitor.

I'm in! I just backed the Crowd Supply Term Driver 2 board by James Bowman, Excamera Labs. Having a tiny, pocket-size display for a UART is a cool idea! This will be useful for debugging without needing to connect a computer, oscilloscope, logic analyzer, etc.

JLCPCB is *so* cheap that it's getting to the point that it's not really worth it double-check my design. Like, if the *whole* order is $80 then it's just not worth spending an hour to increase the odds of success by 20 percentage points, assuming the boards aren't urgent.
