Kind of a weird way to do science if you break it down. Take a fictional technology and decide what fictional signals you might get from it, then look for those and if you find some say it's consistent with your fictional model that makes no sense to begin with, IMO

If progress has been intentionally diverted as many claim, what does that do to popular concepts of what future tech should look like? Or even the concept of tech stages? If Dyson Spheres, first conceptualized in 1960, still seem like a viable option in 2025, what does that mean?
