Almost three years in the making, the preprint is out! We take another stab at the question: How do humans learn from reinforcement? (Spoiler alert: the answer is _not_ Reinforcement Learning). Huge thanks to the dream team: summerfieldlab @summerfieldlab.bsky.social Nathaniel Daw Kevin Miller

New unit paper by Gava et al. from Dupret group discovered a new neuronal mechanism in the hippocampus that prevents new ‘flexible’ memories from being formed due to a past ‘robust’ memory, published in Science Magazine! Excited that the preprint for the work from my first two years of PhD at summerfieldlab @summerfieldlab.bsky.social is out! In this work, we examine the role of action prediction errors (APEs) in cognitive control: osf.io/5ezxs (1/4)

Excited to share our new paper Neuron. Using fMRI, TMS and modelling we show that hippocampus infers responsibility when multiple people achieve an outcome together. With Shuyi Luo, Caroline Harbison Payam Piray and Matthew Rushworth. sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

Our new paper in nature shows that entorhinal grid cells adapt their representations to a new environment in one-shot and we derive a model that fuses landmarks & motion to *predict* the detailed grid rep *before* the mouse enters the new environment! nature.com/articles/s4158…
