Greatly saddened by the death of Celia Britton. Brilliant teacher, tireless supporter of our discipline, pioneering scholar, of nouveau roman & of French Caribbean. Honoured to have published 2 of her books at Liverpool University Press & 2 translations of Glissant (with a 3rd forthcoming).

Government needs to listen to the clamour of voices. Our universities are crucial for long term economic prosperity. Look at how the Asian Tiger (Singapore, S Korea) universities have leap frogged over us in every metric.

I’m thrilled to share that from August, I’ll be taking up a permanent post as a lecturer at French Dept UCC. I’m so excited to work within such an incredible department, I feel so lucky to have been given this opportunity. Thanks to everyone who has helped me get to this point 💚
