Anglesey Freemasons delivered 39 food bags via 6 schools to disadvantaged children, providing a healthy balanced diet. Supported by North Wales Freemasons Charity, £2,500 has been donated to ensure weekly deliveries until the summer holidays. Great #community support #Freemasons

With lifted restrictions in WA we can now plan an unrestricted first ‘real’ meeting in months. 2nd Tuesday in August. Catch up, deal with months of business and a catered curry for the Festive Board. Should be great!

Sad that continuing uncertainty, mainly because of Victorian numbers rising, means our GM has pushed back meetings to late August. Now we hope to meet for a 2nd in September but fear that may be delayed too. Thank G for Zoom, but a shame we can do no more.....yet.

We had another successful Zoom meeting this week. Brethren from as far away as Jordan and Queensland joining for business, a short lecture, even papers for a new Member, then a virtual FB with formal toasts to Q&C, GM etc. Brethren staying in touch!

Another esteemed brother is having a special birthday. Arthur Legget is turning 102. He is one of 4 brothers who are in the 100+ club. Congratulations Arthur.

About to head off to a ceremony of”turning the sod” which marks the start of a $20m 3 stage development that will include 124 bed dementia nursing home, 160 retirement units and social housing for those need help. Another example of Freemasons working for the community.

Today Masonic Care WA had the ground breaking ceremony for our exciting $200 million project for a new care facility in Midland WA. First stage Alzheimer’s care beds and then a large Retirement village yo follow. Excellent work by Freemasons WA.

Brethren in NSW or Qld. RW Bro John Heaton died in Perth this week and his family are trying to contact Ian Parker, a Freemason in Eastern Aus but his number is ringing out. If anyone knows Ian could they DM me please?

We received news that our Immediate Past GM, MW Bro Dr Bill Babe has died suddenly overnight. He pulled our GL out of a bad place and set it on a firm road of success and I with all WA Brethren are devastated to hear he has passed to GL above. RIP an excellent Brother and friend.

The lodge held a beerfest today, courtesy of our WM. Brilliant food, excellent beer and wine and great company of brethren and potential members. Over $350 raised for charity. A good day whilst we can’t meet fully.

Today we, sadly, paid our farewells to our late IPGM, MW Bro Dr William Babe. A very large outdoor ceremony, I estimate 150-200 Freemasons, 250-300 others in a moving, and emotional ceremony. Moving, sincere and heartbreaking for all who knew him. SMIB

An excellent night as WA’s second oldest Lodge led the State in restarting our Masonic journey. COVID safe environment, QR code scan plus attendance register and much brotherly love. Excellent night! (Thanks to our well rehearsed stand in SD too!)

I was going to lay a wreath at our dawn service for ANZAC day but we have gone into a 3 day lockdown so I went straight to the memorial to honour our past and present service personnel on behalf of the Freemasons of WA. Lest we forget.

In our fortunate country we are able to hold meetings properly, and last night we welcomed a new Brother into light. Then an excellent Indian smorgasbord FB, and suddenly everything seemed normal! Hang in there Brethren. It will come back eventually.
