If you are leading in such a way you are too distant to receive a kiss of betrayal, you are failing to do ministry in the way Jesus did. Ooof. Jon Tyson

Revival? "God comes where he is wanted." Hunger for the manifest presence of God is the origin of revival - a thread throughout church history and across denominations and traditions. The church in England needs to rediscover its first love. Jon Tyson New Wine

I’ve been visiting England this summer (my home country) and along the way have visited a few Church of England congregations for Sunday worship. Some reflections: i. The CofE may not really be an Anglican Church at all; it’s more like a uniting church with Anglican bishops.

The Queen's faith in Jesus Christ is painfully absent from most media coverage despite it being the primary& self-confessed anchorage of her long, resilient & remarkable reign. I find it rather dishonouring to disregard such a central theme of her life #QueenElizabethII BBC News (UK)

When Jordan Hattee found himself in rehab at the age of 23, he thought he was beyond redemption. But thanks to unconditional love & a vision from God, he discovered the power of God’s amazing grace. #SongsofPraise Sun 1.15 BBC One & bbc.in/3KACBA2

Pure joy hearing of 92 young people gather in Worcester tonight for united prayer and worship, 30 committing their lives to Jesus. God is doing wonderful & seemingly impossible things despite the painful backdrop of a fractured institution. The gospel remains alive & active.

Great to be at #multiply2023 in Birmingham today with the fabulous All Saints Worcester team, thinking about the mission and vocation of the church ⛪️

As Western mainstream denominations face decline, Pentecostal/Charismatic churches continue to thrive: 'Stagnation is not as compatible with a real, Spirit-filled experience...the core commitments of the movement tend to weed out nominalism.' churchleaders.com/voices/453879-…

I find it lamentable how visibly divided we are as a The Church of England that even the use of credible & effective evangelistic resources such as Alpha are dismissed as 'sectarian'. Our 'deeply held differences' are not just around sexual ethics but the gospel itself. General Synod

Where do you think the The Church of England is on this cycle? Is it possible for the English church to rediscover confidence its founding convictions and see growth again?

I baptised my daughter this morning alongside 3 others. Powerful transformative encounters with the living God. A full church celebrating resurrection hope. I am full of joy 🙌 All Saints Worcester

“The primary ascesis required of a Christian is trust. By trust we give up illusory claims to omniscience. We give ourselves into God’s hands and choose to be reformed according to his purpose.” - Erik Varden, Chastity

Following clearly worded letters over past weeks & speeches in the chamber this afternoon, today was a vote for progress on this matter at the expense of many people, congregations, leaders, & networks. We are now in the territory of visible differentiation & it is heartbreaking.
