We lost a beloved officer in the line of duty overnight. He was backing up another officer on a DWI investigation when he was hit by a passing driver. That driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Our officer was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. 1/2

Our badges are banded in honor of the Cameron PD Officer who was shot while serving a warrant last night and subsequently died. Please keep the family of this officer, as well as all of our Brothers and Sisters with CPD, in your thoughts and prayers.

Earlier today, Frisco Officer Derek Sanso lost a brief battle with cancer. A military veteran, he had a law enforcement career that spanned more than a quarter century. Derek leaves behind a loving wife and son, and a large PD family. He will be dearly missed.

We'd like to belatedly wrap up National Forensic Science Week and our recognition of FPD's Crime Scene/Property & Evidence teams, who seemingly redefine excellence on a daily basis. We are blessed by the passion they bring to work and commitment they have to serving. #NFSW3023

Join us this Friday, September 29th, as we celebrate the life of Frisco Police Officer Derek Sanso. The community visitation starts at 9:30 am, followed by the funeral at 11:00 am. Both will be at Stonebriar Community Church (4801 Legendary in Frisco), with a reception to follow.
